Does the institution include sustainability prominently in new student orientation?:
Yes

A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:

Over the past eight years, a student green fair is held in the opening weeks of the fall semester, in order to engage new and returning students in what is available on campus for student studies and informal engagement with sustainability across the campus. Participants include "green" student organizations such as Sierra Student Coalition, Engineers Without Borders, Emerging Green Buildings, and so forth. Other participants include The Office of Sustainability, Restaurant Operations, Conservation and Environmental Sciences department, and the School of Architecture.

Student Affairs and The Office of Sustainability have also offered specialized events welcoming students, such as "Green Eggs and Ham" in late August of 2012 that offered a local breakfast and sustainability tours of campus. This year the two are offering a zero-waste event in a near by park for new students moving on to campus.

Parking and Transportation prominently set up at new student orientation to get students enrolled in the the UPass free bus program.

Our Outdoor Pursuits (formerly the Adventure Center) take new students on a bicycle ride around campus and the neighborhood each year to familiarize new students with the easily accessible bike lane routes, trails, and lakefront biking opportunities.
