Major projects administered through the State of Wisconsin, Department of Administration (DOA), Division of Facilities Development & Management (DFDM), require contractors to follow a Construction Waste Management Plan (CWM), with specific waste diversion goals of 50% or greater and specific material types targeted as outlined in the DOA-DFDM Master Specifications Section 01 74 19 (https://doa.wi.gov/Pages/DoingBusiness/MasterSpec_Div1.aspx)

Data are from performance year (FY20) for all eligible construction projects for which data are available.

Data were available for all projects over $5 Million in cost (as waste tracking is required by these projects which are managed by the State of Wisconsin). Large projects reporting waste included:
- Witte Residence Hall Renovation
- Meat Science and Muscle Biology Laboratory
- Music Performance Building
- Southeast Recreational Facility Replacement
- Chemistry Building Addition and Renovation
- UW Babcock Hall
- South Campus Utility Improvements
- Water Treatment System Buildout
- Lathrop Hall to North Hall Site Utilities
- Linden Drive Parking Garage
- Lathrop Drive to Science Hall Site Utilities #3

Data were also available from campus renovation projects as waste data is captured and tracked by the internal waste management team.

Reliable data was not available for capital projects below $5 Million.
