A brief description of the time period on which the figures reported above are based :

This data includes all available cleaning product expenditure data from FY21 from centrally managed purchasing data. This includes purchase orders for cleaning supplies and department purchases through ShopUW+, the UW System Purchasing and Payables System. FY21 was chosen as the reporting year for this credit since it has the most complete inventory of purchasing data for the main campus (a transition of procurement software in 2020 has limited the ability to analyze FY20 data). In FY21 Athletics had little operations and therefore no associated cleaning supply purchases yet the main campus had a significant increase in cleaning supply purchases to support public health best practices during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Since 2012, University Housing has been using a single water-based cleaning product called aqueous ozone. This certified product eliminated the need for window cleaner, disinfectant, and a general purpose cleaner.
