Each program at UW-Madison defines its own learning outcomes (LOs) and the graduates reported above are a count of all students that completed a degree program that has adopted sustainability-focused LOs.
To develop the list of degree programs that have adopted sustainability-focused LOs we first obtained a list of all program-level LOs. Then, we used the STARS set of search terms (e.g., "sustainability," "inequality," and "climate change") to shorten the list to those potentially sustainability-focused LOs.
Each program-level LO that matched a STARS search-term was then manually reviewed by a team from the Office of Sustainability to confirm that the LO was appropriately sustainability-focused. The final list of programs and their associated sustainability-related LOs is included in the attachment to this credit.
