Yes
The charter or mission statement of the committee(s) or a brief description of each committee's purview and activities:
There are two sustainability committees at UW-Madison, the Associated Students of Madison (ASM) Sustainability Committee and the Sustainability Data Working Group.
The ASM Sustainability Committee (https://kb.wisc.edu/85556) provides a medium for exchanging ideas and running campaigns pertaining to environmental sustainability across the UW-Madison Campus. The goal of this committee is to advocate for administrative and operational changes related to environmental stewardship, and ultimately create a more sustainable campus. Members of the committee often connect with the greater Madison community to expand their efforts and advance a shared vision of sustainability. Committee members work together in teams on semester-long campaigns relating to environmental education, compost, water, energy, plastics, and more.
The Sustainability Data Working Group (https://sustainability.wisc.edu/chancellor-announces-sustainability-working-group/) assists the Office of Sustainability (OS) as it prepares the STARS report. The working group is instrumental in meeting an aggressive reporting timeline. The working group will:
- provide access to the people and resources needed to collect sustainability data
- establish processes with their units to collect these data
- insure that the data are available to the OS for a STARS submission by fall 2019
- advise the OS communication team on the presentation of the data from their unit
- establish a process for repeating the data collections in the future
- prepare for a transition to an advisory committee

Over the past three years, the UW-Madison has continually pushed sustainability advancement. This entire STARS report is the best summary of the specific sustainability accomplishments or you can view the Office of Sustainability's (OS) FY18 report here: https://fpmos.wiscweb.wisc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/29/2019/03/Sustainability-FY18-Annual-Report-Nov-2018.pdf
From the perspective of institution-wide coordination UW-Madison has refocused the OS as the lead for addressing both academic and facility sustainability initiatives. To that end, in 2018 the OS hired a full-time director to lead all non-academic related sustainability initiatives on campus and developed a three phased plan to strengthen the impact and engagement of campus sustainability efforts.
