Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Data are from performance year (FY18) for all eligible construction projects for which data are available.

Data were available for all projects over $5 Million in cost (as waste tracking is required by these projects which are managed by the State of Wisconsin). Large projects reporting waste included:
- Meat Science and Muscle Biology Laboratory
- Babcock Hall Diary Plant Renovation & Center for Dairy Research Addition
- Witte Hall Renovation
- Hamel Music Center

Data were also available from campus renovation projects as waste data is captured and tracked by the internal waste management team.

For capital projects below $5 Million, or for which waste tracking data was not available from the State, UW-Madison staff reached out to contractors and reported waste data from those projects who maintained consistent records throughout the construction process (e.g., include data from projects that were only tracking recycling weights and not landfill weights were not included). Projects where data were available include:
- Southeast Recreational Facility Replacement
- Lot 76 Sanitary Lift Station
- Chamberlin 5th Floor Remodel for Kolkowitz Lab
- Biochemistry Instrument Facility
- WIMR West Wedge Addition
