This online master's program is designed for students to channel their passion for energy, engineering, and the environment and to equip themselves with the skills required to engage in global energy transformations.
Students gain an understanding of tomorrow’s clean energy principles, learn about the structure of today’s conventional energy systems, and obtain experience in navigating the ongoing clean energy transition.

Forest and Wildlife Ecology provides science-based research, instruction, and extension that supports forest and wildlife conservation and management in an ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable fashion. Faculty members who guide students through the M.S. or PhD programs include experts in forest and ecosystem ecology, forests and environmental history, social forestry, as well as many other sustainability-related fields.

The M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering is offered by the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering.
Students in this master's degree program learn to comprehensively address practical problems associated with drinking water and wastewater treatment, air quality, environmental chemistry, sustainable design, energy efficiency, and solid and hazardous waste remediation. Additionally, the program combines law and practice so that students discover how to develop and enforce environmental policies and regulations that forge the way for a greener future.

Through the Center for Culture, History and Environment (CHE) Environmental History Colloquium, the annual place-based workshops, and the Tales from Planet Earth film festival, among other activities, CHE has created a lively, engaged community of faculty, graduate students, and others from a wide array of academic disciplines to investigate environmental and cultural change in the full sweep of human history.

Since its formation in 1980, the Energy Analysis and Policy program (EAP) has provided students with the skills and knowledge needed by professionals in government, energy companies, consulting firms, and other organizations. EAP draws students from across campus. Particularly large student groups from public policy, environmental studies, engineering, and urban planning pursue the certificate because of the program's interdisciplinary curriculum which considers a wide range of technical, economic, political, and social factors that shape energy policy formulation and decision-making.
