A brief description of when and why the workplace health and safety baseline was adopted:
UW-La Crosse chose 2012 as our baseline year to adopt improved workplace health and safety in 2013 emphasizing management's commitment to a safe workplace; open communication between supervisors and staff with more effective safety training implementation in all areas; and promotion of awareness of safety in the workplace at all levels within the organization. Our goal in addition to fewer incidents is a reduction in Worker's Compensation costs and higher morale for employees with timely return to work procedures.
