Student representatives sit on all "joint committees", including the Joint Committee on Environmental Sustainability, Joint Legislative/Regents Committee, Joint Minority Affairs Committee, and the Joint Planning and Budget Committee.

Representative of our primary staff categories (faculty, academic staff, and classified staff) serve as formal members of our major joint committees, including the Joint Committee on Environmental Sustainability, Joint Legislative/Regents Committee, Joint Minority Affairs Committee, and the Joint Planning and Budget Committee. In addition, each of these staff categories has their own respective governing body: Faculty Senate (faculty), Academic Staff Council (academic staff), and Classified Staff Council (classified staff).

Faculty are included in reviewing/modifying UW-L's mission statement, establishing new programs and initiatives, participating in strategic planning, and evaluating physical resources, etc. Faculty sit on all "joint committees", including the Joint Committee on Environmental Sustainability, Joint Legislative/Regents Committee, Joint Minority Affairs Committee, and the Joint Planning and Budget Committee. In addition, faculty served on over 20 committees established by Faculty Senate and our faculty governance processes.
