The University of Winnipeg Community Renewal Corporation (UWCRC) is a not-for-profit charitable organization established to support the development of a sustainable University community, It is guided by the four pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, economic and cultural. The university provides some adminstrative and HR support, as well as office space to the UWCRC. The UWCRC Board includes Community and First Nations Board members who are from and/or represent marginalized populations. Website: http://uwcrc.ca/

The Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre is a community partnership initiative that looks to build university-bound identities for inner-city youth through educational programs rooted in Indigenous language and culture. It is designed to reflect our neighbors’ needs for an educational gathering place that is inclusive and accessible. UW provides space, security, utility costs, and support in acquiring a portion of the funds through the University of Winnipeg Foundation. The institution also provides direction, HR support, financial services, and legal support. The partnership supports social equity with the goal of increasing economic prosperity and ecological health in underrepresented groups; Underrepresented group and vulnerable populations are highly engaged and involved in the planning, decision-making, and implementation of engagement.
