A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
Sustainability related programing is part of the University of Winnipeg's first year undergraduate and graduate student orientation each year. Information about sustainability on campus is included in the main student presentation (waste disposal, carbon emission reductions, etc) and the opening slide show which plays to the audience before the presentations begin, and is referenced during the student tours. Information about the sustainability office is also included in the First Year Resource Guide which students receive at the various orientations and from an Academic Advisor if they were not able to attend the presentations.
Some transfer students attend the various orientations offered on campus and if they participate in a tour, they receive some information about sustainability on campus. They also receive the First Year Resource Guide which contains information about the sustainability office.
