The total local expenditures were determined by reviewing invoices from all suppliers that supplied more than $10 000 of products in 2016. All of these companies were contacted by the sustainability coordinators and asked to supply a percentage of local food/ beverages that were from the specified radius.

The values were collected by the Sustainability Coordinators by contacting each company that supplied $10 000 or more of product to the university from 2016. These companies were asked to provide supporting information of their claims to support the universities response to this section.
