ERAPPA 2016 Conference. Topic: Western's Energy Dashboard (October 16 - 19, 2017) In 2012, Western University developed in-house a one-of-a-kind energy dashboard. It provides real-time and historical information on utilities consumed within Western's buildings. It is used in demand management initiatives, project and campus planning, competitions between residences, research and education. Western submitted a case study for the AASHE Awards, for its Water Management program. This case study was also sent to the Ontario Water Works Association, and it received the 2016 Water Efficiency Award for our decrease in water use intensity by 18% over three years, thanks to the installation of water meters and low-flow faucets and fixtures
