UWG's Nursing Building (2013) received a 2-peach rating In Accordance with the
Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Construction Act of 2008 (O.C.G.A. § 50-8-18) in March 2015.
UWG designs all new buildings and major renovations in accordance with the State of Georgia's "Georgia Peach Green Building Standards". The Georgia Peach Green Building Rating System is A 4-tiered system followed in accordance with the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Construction Act of 2008 (O.C.G.A. §50-8-18) for state-owned buildings in Georgia. UWG requires a minimum of 2-Peaches to be pursued on all new construction.

UWG is committed to achieving at least a 2 peach rating for every new and renovated building, which is supposed to correspond to LEED silver. In addition, UWG maintains its own purchasing guidelines, an energy/water management, as well as other specific guidelines (no net tree loss) that informs its building procedures.
