The University of West Georgia is a National Wildlife Federation Ecoleaders Campus Partner. This is a paid membership into NWF's national sustainability network, intended for institutions interested in advancing their own sustainability leadership, and in advancing sustainability career and leadership development for their students.

The University of West Georgia is a member of the Georgia Campus Sustainability Network (GCSN). This network is sponsored by NWF and consists of a group of Georgia colleges and universities that use the network to share and collaborate and to come together once a year for the GCSN conference.
University of West Georgia is also a member of the Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education Sustainability initiative.

The Director of Sustainability, Hannes Gerhardt, is on the steering committee of the Georgia Campus Sustainability Network (GCSN). The tasks of this committee are to map out the future direction of GCSN and to help organize the yearly conference.

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:
The University of West Georgia is currently in a mentoring relationship with the University of North Georgia (UNG). Since UWG has had some experience as a "small" regional institution in completing the AASHE STARS survey, it has been agreed that UWG will assist UNG in its aim to submit an AASHE STARS survey. The assistance take the form primarily in answering questions and offering advice as it pertains to AASHE in the context of being a regional school within the the Georgia Board of Regents.

A brief description of the peer review activities:
The University of West Georgia has an arrangement with the University of North Georgia in which they peer review each others GHG emissions reports.
The University of West Georgia has also recently been asked to advise in the expansions of sustainability activities at Valdosta State University.

A brief description of other collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year:
Via the UWG's seat on the steering committee of the Georgia Campus Sustainability Network (GCSN), the University has been engaged in joint planning the GCSN conference.
UWG is also currently engages in planning the structure and mission of the Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education Sustainability initiative. This initiative is set up to create greater sustainability resource sharing and collaboration between institutions of higher education in the Atlanta area.
