The first sustainability culture survey was distributed in 2016 in preparation for the development of the 2017-2025 Sustainability Strategy. Another sustainability cultural assessment was conducted in 2024 to help shape Waterloo’s sustainability directions by gauging current perceptions and knowledge about sustainability on campus, priorities for the campus community, satisfaction with existing efforts, as well as identifying opportunities for growth. Future surveys will continue to gauge progress, priorities and potential. The plan is to administer the survey every 2-4 years.
