Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Data for energy source of electricity is taken from the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) from the most recent report for the Province of Ontario for 2017: http://www.ieso.ca/power-data/supply-overview/transmission-connected-generation. These numbers reflect transmission connected generation within the province and do not account for embedded/distribution-connected energy managed by local distribution companies.
Energy used for heating buildings is an estimate. Some thermal load is provided by electrical equipment (Lights, servers, computers), but the majority is from natural gas. There are some electric heaters in air handling units across campus, in addition to private/individual space heaters. Therese are not metered and so there is no specific data on heating provided by these, but the vast majority is from natural gas.
