UN Women’s HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
IMPACT 10x10x10 is a global partnership to engage key decision makers in governments, corporations, and universities around the world to drive change from the top to advance gender equality. IMPACT Champions make gender equality an institutional priority by implementing the HeForShe IMPACT framework and developing three bold, game-changing commitments to advance and achieve gender equality for all. Waterloo is one of ten universities around the world who is participated in the framework, and one of three in North America. It has committed to the following:
o Waterloo committed to increase the number of girls and women in our STEM outreach experiences and activities to 33 per cent by 2020: this goal was exceeded in 2017 with 35% female participation
o Waterloo committed to enhance female faculty representation to 30 per cent by 2020: Waterloo has almost met this target, with 29% female faculty in 2017
o Waterloo committed to attract and advance female leaders into senior academic and administrative university positions to 29 percent in 2020: Waterloo is at 27.5% as of 2017.
