Two courses are offered to students to educate them about food in relation to eco-positive food choices.

Yes

As space allows, sustainable food messaging is added onto menu boards and digital menu screens.

Incoming Residence Hall students are oriented on the sustainable food and beverage products that are available in campus food operations.

Yes

During the first two days of classes the entire campus community has the opportunity to attend opening festivities where our sustainable food vendors give out samples of products that are grown, produced, processed locally.

This also occurs on Earth Day and during our annual Sustainability Fair.  Registered student groups work with us to provide smaller educational venues and to join their groups to receive weekly education on sustainable food systems. The Real food Challenge, Campus Animal Rights Educators, Students Expressing Environmental Dedication, UW Student Farm, Student Food Coop,  are venues that provide ongoing education on sustainable food systems. Our sustainable food providers provide tours of production facilities and farm tours that showcase sustainability practices in action. Our websites provide quite a bit of information online regarding our UW Dining sustainability program

Yes

The registered student groups, UW Student Farm as well as Students Expressing Environmental Dedication provide those hands on educational opportunities in their gardens and fields.
