A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :
UW has electricity production from four on-site solar cell installations. 1. UW Mechanical Engineering Building - 2.65 kW 2. UW Center for Urban Horticulture -Merrill Hall - 9.6 kW 3. IMA - 33.2 kW 4. Power Plant - 8.6 kW These are estimated production numbers for the first two installations, which have been added to the first option. There is more detailed information on the first and second installation in the link below. There is no data available for the last two installations. http://www.seattle.gov/light/Green/greenPower/accomplish.asp

A brief description of RECs or other similar renewable energy products purchased during the previous year, including contract timeframes:
The UW Seattle campus pays $18,000 a month to Seattle City Light to participate in their Green-Up Program, and as a result UW Seattle’s electrical energy is considered 100% carbon neutral and renewable (note that this considers hydropower as renewable).

A brief description of cogeneration technologies deployed:
The UW Seattle Campus central utility plant combusts natural gas to produce steam for heating campus buildings. Prior to being distributed to the campus for heating, the steam is first used to produce electricity in a steam turbine generator. http://f2.washington.edu/oess/sites/default/files/file/UW%20Climate%20Action%20Plan%2010_9.pdf p 28
