Does the institution have one or more Level 2 or Level 3 electric vehicle recharging stations that are accessible to student and employee commuters?:
Yes

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:

The garage at the Darden School of Business has three Level 2 chargers available for employee use. The Central Grounds Garage has two chargers: one Level 3 and one Level 2. They are available to the general public, including students and employees.

Does the institution have incentives or programs to encourage employees to live close to campus?:
Yes

A brief description of the incentives or programs to encourage employees to live close to campus:

UVA Parking and Transportation operates the University Transit Service (UTS), which in addition to serving UVA's main campus and hospital, also serves several surrounding residential neighborhoods in the City of Charlottesville. UTS provides fare-free rides to the public, including UVA employees.

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) is the City of Charlottesville's transit system and it connects those living in the Greater Charlottesville Area to UVA. Specifically, five of CAT's twelve routes have bus stops at UVA. CAT also provides fare-free rides, which UVA subsidizes given the use of the system by its students and employees.

Does the institution have other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting?:
Yes

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:

UVA Parking and Transportation has the CavPool program which incentives commuters to carpool and vanpool instead of single-occupancy vehicles. The program offers free or discounted permits based on commute vehicle occupancy, occasional parking permits for when car/vanpoolers have to drive themselves, and a $500/month subsidy for vanpools. https://parking.virginia.edu/rideshare

Charlottesville also has two regional transit providers that link outlying areas and counties to UVA. Jaunt CONNECT offers four fixed-route shuttles to communities, ranging from 10-40 miles away. CONNECT offers fare-free rides, but UVA subsidizes the system given the benefit it provides to employees. In 2021, Afton Express was launched, which is a single fixed-route that offers multiple daily runs on weekdays from Staunton (40 miles) and Waynesboro (25 miles) to Charlottesville with two stops at UVA. UVA sales discounted fare cards to employees to incentivize them to use the service.
