A list of the institution level sustainability learning outcomes:

UVA students in the College Curriculum fulfill their Discipline requirements in different ways according to their assigned pathway: Engagements Pathway or Disciplines Plus Pathway (https://gened.as.virginia.edu/requirements). Students in the College Curriculum must earn 3 credits in each of the seven Discipline categories. However, all students take courses in each of the 7 categories, including this Living Systems category:

"A liberal education should develop a knowledge of principles of how living systems work and interact with the environment. Human health, environmental impacts on ecosystems, emerging viruses, and human behavior are examples of topics that impact all students and require an understanding of living systems in order to make educated personal and societal assessments and decisions. Courses in this category introduce students to basic concepts in the natural and social sciences and help them relate this knowledge to their lives as citizens and contemporary problems."
