Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
The UVA Community Food Pantry (CFP) is a student-run initiative that aims to eliminate the financial hardships UVA students, graduate students, and staff face in attempting to access adequate food by providing essential food and hygiene items. CFP also aims to identify and quantify food insecurity at UVA in order to advocate for a just food system for all members of the UVA community.
The UVA Community Food Pantry is located in the Student Activities Center on the 1st floor of Newcomb Hall. The pantry is open to all students and staff during the SAC’s hours.
