A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

The Department of Parking and Transportation has partnered with the University's Center for Survey Research to conduct an employee mode split survey every two years. The most recent survey data collection period was May 2017 to July 2017. The 2017 survey had a 51% response rate with a margin of error at +/- 4.6%. The survey also collects additional information that the Department can use to guide outreach efforts and infrastructure improvements.
