A brief description of the program:
The Cavpool program began offering parking fee discounts for car and van poolers in August of 2009. The program provides a 25% discount for carpools with two riders, a 40% discount for carpools with three riders, and a 100% discount for carpools or vanpools with four or more riders. Each rider is given 20 Occasional Parking Permits each year to use on days in which they must drive independently of the carpool or vanpool. These permits are interchangable between members of the group but expire after one year. Additional Occasional Parking Permits may be purchased. Participants are also given the opportunity to enroll in the regional Ride Share agency's Guaranteed Ride Home Program. Cavpool members are also given a $15 driving credit if they enroll in the Zipcar car sharing program.
