A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):

Employee Program: The University of Vermont has a dedicated staff member for the Employee Wellness program who coordinates the various employee wellness related events, activities and resources at UVM. UVM Leadership encourages supervisors to allow employees work time when possible to complete wellness activities including, in person and virtual option programming. The Employee Wellness Coordinator is supported by a wellness council of campus employees in various leadership positions who provide guidance and voice to other initiatives and needs on campus. There is also a team of Ambassadors to make the wellness programming more accessible, communication more personal and allow staff to connect, network and share their passion for wellness. We also provide resources that enable individuals to grow in each dimension of wellness. All wellness resources and programs are available to both Academic Staff and non-academic staff. On-campus resources include: employee assistance program (Invest EAP offers UVM Employees a 24 hour phone line and a scheduling tool for virtual appointments), free access to full-time faculty and staff to the on-site gym and facilities, a weekly schedule of free group fitness classes for employees, onsite Chiropractic Care, On-stie Well Checks & virtual dietitian appointments, long term 4 month in depth health classes that meet virtually and offer body scans, dietitian visits and exercise.

Student Program: The Center for Health and Wellbeing is a student focused center for health and wellbeing at UVM. The Center for Health and Wellbeing provides medical care, mental health care, and leads public health programs on campus. The Center’s goal is to help students access tools and resources to support them and their unique experience of health and wellbeing both inside and outside the classroom. The Center for Health and Wellbeing aims to provide respectful, dignified, affirming care that takes into account the enduring legacy of racism and other forms of inequity on health. We promote radical self-care, body liberation, and the value of a community-wide approach to health and wellbeing. https://www.uvm.edu/health
