Eco-Reps

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

Eco-Reps go through a training at the start of each semester which covers the basics of being a community educator and how to design messages and actions that incite change. Throughout each semester Eco-Reps learn about focused topics in the field of environmentalism through guest speakers, group learning sessions, and self study. Eco-Reps are involved in large events and are often called to represent environmentalism at other group’s events (such as assisting in waste sorting at concerts or club fairs), as well as running their own programming (such as organizing events to get students to engage in environmental habits or tabling to provide information on certain topics) while working in their smaller community teams and assisting with campus initiatives (such as supporting Dining waste reduction campaigns or the in-dorm compost services).

Davis Center Eco-Reps (Davis Center is the student union building)

A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):

Davis Center Eco-Reps (DCERs) are unique because they are not tied to the residence halls. They work for the student union building and work closely with student life to engage all residential and non residential undergraduate students in sustainability, mostly through events. They facilitate progress toward sustainability topics relevant to the Davis Center and run major programs like farmers markets and Earth Week. These events reach a much broader audience than the residential program. DCERs attend the same training as other Eco-Reps. Here is the schedule of Earth Week events in 2019: https://www.facebook.com/events/university-of-vermont/uvm-earth-week-2019/328252237798387/
