A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:

In 2018, Transportation & Parking Services (TPS) took over the responsibility of approving new and replacement vehicles. As as a part of that restructuring TPS was able to encourage departments to downsize, rightsize, use alternatively fuelled and more efficient vehicles. In 2019 a Green Fleet Procurement Policy was drafted and pilotted. This policy requires departments to research and consider alternatively fueled options and only purchase vehicles with high fuel efficiency for their class or install systems that would reduce idling time. Formal sanction of this policy is underway by the University
