A brief description of institution owned and/or managed land that is currently third party certified under one or more of the programs listed above, including the year each certification was achieved and/or renewed:
In January of 2014, UVM was officially recognized as a Tree Campus USA. The application process was started several years ago by students in NR 206: Environmental Problem-Solving and Impact Assessment and HCOL 186: Trees and Culture - a testament to student initiative and interest in the environment at UVM. As part of the designation as a Tree Campus USA, the university has created a tree advisory committee, a campus tree-care plan, and dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program. In addition, every year UVM will host an Arbor Day celebration and student service-learning project related to trees.
