Graduating Student Survey (Student Affairs)
Population: All graduating students, annual

Developed at the University of Utah in collaboration with a number of campus partners. Focuses on students’ experiences during their time at the U, including academic advising, paying for school, working during school, involvement, overall satisfaction, and sense of belonging. Data is currently reported from 2014-2022 and can be sorted by demographics.
National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) (Student Affairs)
Population: First year and senior students, Spring semester, odd years

National survey conducted every two years by Indiana University. The survey asks “"Please indicate how much the University of Utah emphasized encouraging contact among students from diff. backgrounds (soc., racial/eth., relig., etc.)”. Most recent data are scheduled for release in Summer 2023.
Campus Climate Survey on Sexual Assault & Misconduct (Student Affairs)
Population: All enrolled students, every two years

The University of Utah administered its first sexual assault survey in 2016 with the intent to completed the survey every two years. The American Association of Universities survey allows for benchmarking with Pac-12 peers.
Food Insecurity Survey (Utah System of Higher Education)
Population: Students enrolled for credit at USHE institutions, Fall 2021

Survey instrument developed at Weber State and administered to all USHE schools. Three additional questions added for U of U students regarding housing. U of U specific data is available from Student Affairs Assessment & Analytics. Data gathered from this survey will be used to inform decisions about basic needs of U of U students and planning for an upcoming Basic Needs Center.
Student Sense of Belonging Survey (Student Affairs & EDI)
Population: Random sample of graduate and undergraduate students, January 2023.
A new survey in cooperation with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Response rate, 13.9%. Data are not yet released.

Diversity, Inclusion, Culture and Equity (DICE) Inventory, 2022 (UHealth)
Population: UHealth Academics, Hospitals and Clinics (employee outcomes)

The DICE inventory, developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges is an 89-question inventory to assist health professions schools (including, but not limited to medical schools) determine if their policies and procedures reflect the best practices in health professions equity, diversity and inclusion.
Health Sciences LEAP Academic Learning Communities, annual (HS LEAP)
Population: Undergraduate Students enrolled in Health Sciences LEAP
Since 2010, the LEAP program has used the Skyfactor survey designed by Educational Benchmarking Incorporated (EBI) to evaluate learning outcomes. This survey includes a Diverse Interactions factor. The Health Sciences Learning, Engagement, Achievement, and Progress (HS-LEAP) Program is associated with a higher success rate for students underrepresented in medicine.

Bias Response Team Dashboard (EDI)

Student Affairs Assessment & Analytics partnered with the Racist and Bias Incident Response Team (RBIRT) to provide them with a dashboard to visualize their data on incident types, incident locations, response times, etc. This process helped the RBIRT team to see trends of response and types of incidents—to make decisions about their approach to addressing incidents and supporting students.
