The University of Utah’s LEED and high performance building design standards are applied to all construction contracts that, in any way, affect the institution’s facilities, regardless if the contract came from the state of Utah or from the University, itself. All those who assist the University in its construction projects, e.g. architects, engineers, etc., are expected to adhere to these standards and are to incorporate sustainable methods into their designs.
