Calculation of total water use in 2010 was comprised of demands in three major categories:
Total water use calculations include plant uptake, evaporation, infiltration, and runoff.

Total Water (1485 MG) - Pre-University water (516 MG) = Change in water use (969 MG)
The University of Utah is using 2.9 times as much water as the landscape in its natural state.
