A brief description of the water metering employed:
The majority of the water used by campus is purchased from Salt Lake City Public Utilities and is metered by the utility at 7 different main supply lines to the campus. The main campus currently has sub-metering at 88 buildings. The standard for all new major capital construction is metering at the building level. A small portion of water is delivered to university buildings by Salt Lake City Public Utilities. Facilities Management receives and tracks all consumption and cost data.
