A brief description of the snow and ice removal program, policy, or practice:
The University of Utah Grounds Department has taken steps to minimize salt usage for ice removal without compromising the safety of pedestrians. When weather permits, street sweepers are used to remove excess salt from the roads, effectively preventing it from entering the stormwater drainage system. Ice Fighter Plus ice melt, produced by More Grow, is used on University of Utah grounds; the ice melt is all natural and more environmentally friendly than standard ice melt.
