A brief description of the native plant program, policy, or practice:
The University of Utah Grounds Department uses native plant species when possible; however, drought resistant plants take priority in lanscaping efforts. With the University of Utah in a high-desert grassland environment that only receives about 15 inches of rain per year, the Grounds Department prefers to use native species that are also drought resistant.
