Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Regarding the population headcount: the University of Utah employs a large number of full-time students, and likewise, a significant number of full-time staff take advantage of the tuition reduction program and so are also classified as students. The University has established a methodology to avoid double-counting these individuals for transit usage, greenhouse gas, and STARS reporting purposes as compared to when each population category is reported separately in the main institutional dataset. the Office of Budget and Institutional Analysis performs an internal analysis based on university identification (UID) numbers to identify those who are counted as both students and staff. Headcount numbers for both the ACUPPC greenhouse gas inventories and STARS reporting reflect this correction.
The information presented here is self-reported. While AASHE staff review portions of all STARS reports and institutions are welcome to seek additional forms of review, the data in STARS reports are not verified by AASHE. If you believe any of this information is erroneous or inconsistent with credit criteria, please review the process for inquiring about the information reported by an institution or simply email your inquiry to stars@aashe.org.
