Green Move Out

A brief description of the campaign:
Green Move Out is a collective challenge for students living on campus to clear out their spaces and give back. Students donate their unwanted items at the end of the year to recirculate into the Stockton community. Besides donating their unwanted clothing, non-perishable food, electronics, school supplies and more, students can also volunteer with the program to help organize the collected materials.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
In 2023, Green Move Out collected more than 3,300 pounds of clothes, bedding, food, school supplies and other goods. Most of the donated items are given to nonprofits in Stockton including Stockton Shelter for the Homeless, Harvest Home Animal Shelter and St. Mary's Dining Room. School supplies, books and some electronics are saved and given out to students at the start of the Fall semester.

Warpit: Online Surplus

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
The university launched an online surplus management system in January 2022. The system allows any university employee at any of the campuses to post pictures and descriptions of university owned items that are still functional but they do not have a use for. Employees can browse and claim items for free rather than purchasing new. This transparency cuts down on waste, saves departments money, and cuts down on moving items multiple times. Stakeholders in Facilities, Procurement, Art and Technology were were consulted in developing the online tool to ensure processes and procedures were followed while still maintaining a smooth interface for employees using the system. Live trainings were provided to Business managers and recordings were made available to employees through our internal training platform. https://my.pacific.edu/pages/warp-it

Since it's launch in Spring 2022, WarpIt, has diverted an estimated 16,500 lbs of waste from the landfill.
