Has the institution assessed diversity and equity in terms of campus climate?:
Yes

A brief description of the campus climate assessment(s) :

In AY15, campus climate surveys were conducted for each student, staff, and faculty member. Each group received about 4 months to complete which included email reminders throughout the period, opportunities to complete via paper and pencil, and forums discussing the surveys and their purpose. The student and staff surveys are conducted by Noel-Levitz, and the faculty survey is being conducted by COACHE.

Analyzation of the surveys were conducted by COACHE for faculty, and internally for the staff and students. Results were made public to all Pacific constituents and forums were held to discuss the results.

A Staff Climate Action Task Force was created to to collect feedback from staffers regarding the results and to create a list of recommended action items for the President.

Yes

A brief description of the student diversity and educational equity assessment(s):

President Eibeck created a Task Force (chaired by then-president of Student Life Elizabeth Griego) to examine issues of diversity on campus. The Task Force report was completed in 2012. Many of the suggestions outlined in that report have been enacted (such as the creation of the Bias Response Team, and the creation of the Women’s Resource Center Director), and others are slated to be enacted. The Task Force report is still a reference for Pacific.

Yes

A brief description of the employee diversity and employment equity assessment(s):

The Assistant Provost for Diversity is monitoring applicant pools for tenure-track faculty positions on the Stockton campus (via PeopleAdmin, the software HR has purchased for the University). Applicant pools are checked versus the demographic data of recent PhDs in each position’s discipline. The report should be completed and shared with the University community before the end of the semester.

Yes

A brief description of the governance and public engagement assessment(s):

The Diversity Team has reached out to different governing bodies to discuss preferred action items to engage constituents in conversations on the topic of diversity.

The will be hosting open forums in which all staff, faculty and students are invited to share any opinions, concerns, questions, and criticisms to improve diversity in governance.
