The Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee are charged with overseeing the University of the Incarnate Word Endowment. Published guidelines articulate the principles informing investment decisions, and one seciton of those guidelines addresses "socially responsible investing," drawing particularly on the statement of Catholic values embodied in the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (November 2021). These values include "Care for God's creation," a "environemtal challenge" and a call to protect people and planet (https://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/what-we-believe/catholic-social-teaching/care-for-creation)
