International Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Dance and Sport (Tokyo, July 5–8 2024)
Facutly and students from the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and from the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions (SNHP) participated in and presented at this international conference, which in 2024 had a theme of “Fostering Well-Being through Innovative Approaches,” supporting UN Sustainabile Development Goal 3, among others. Dr. Kevin Salfen (Associate Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences) is a committee member of EcoSA, an environmental sustainability-focused collaborative support by the City of San Antonio.

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:
The University of the Incarnate Word has provided guidance to the Oblate School of Theology for the last two years as that institution discerns whether to formally commit to the Laudato Si' Action Platform. This mentoring relationship has involved inviting representatives from Oblate School to UIW for a meeting of area Catholic institutions at various stages of participation in the Laudato Si' Action Platform, an invited visit from UIW representatives to the Oblate School campus to present about UIW's experience with Laudato Si', and mutual support as both institutions brought a proposal to the Archbishop of the Diocese of San Antonio for the archdiocese to commit to the Laudato Si' Action Platform.
