A brief description of the campaign:
In Fall 2021, faculty members in coordination with UIW's Office of Mission and MInistry began to advocate for the university's participation in the Laudato Si' Action Platform, an initiative of the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, inspired by Pope Francis's encyclical Laudato Si'. Supported by the Sustainability Advisory Board, which includes staff, students, faculty, and administrators, the President of UIW, Dr. Thomas Evans, committed the university to the platform in a public announcement in March 2022. https://www.uiw.edu/news/2022/03/uiw-joins-pope-francis-in-effort-to-address-global-warming.html
