A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
UFV's Office of Sustainable has developed a New Employee and Student Orientation Guide. The Guide helps new employees and students get to know the Office of Sustainability, sustainable initiatives going on at UFV, and opportunities for collaborations. In the 2022 New Employee Orientation, the Office of Sustainability was included as one of the stops on the campus tours so employees could learn about the sustainability work at UFV and where the office is located

The Guide contains:
- overview of the UFV Office of Sustainability
- overview of sustainability initiatives on campus
- overview of collaboration opportunities
- definitions of sustainability, Nested sustainable Systems Model, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- an overview of AASHE STARS
