Does the institution host a farmers' market for the community?:
Yes

A brief description of the farmers’ market:

UDC hosted a community Farmer's Market on the Van Ness campus on Saturdays from 8 AM - 2 PM from June 4th, 2011 - November 12, 2011. The Farmer's Market brings several local farms to a central location, where the community members can purchase locally produced, healthy food, as well as meet some of the local farmers.

In the midst of a growing concern regarding access to fresh and healthy food choices, the city's public university and America's urban land-grant institution has established a market to connect farmers with residents in the urban environment. UDC works in partnership with MAGCC, Mid-Atlantic Growers and Consumers Cooperative for the UDC Farmer's Market to cultivate a healthier, more connected community.

The UDC Farmers' Market is an initiative of UDC's College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences, which provides "a sustainable bridge from college to the world." Consistent with the university's mission as a land-grant institution, CAUSES integrates education, research and community service or "outreach."

The UDC Farmers' Market is open to the public, all stakeholders who are interested in access to fresh and healthy food selections in the urban environment.
