The Office of TRIO and College Preparatory Programs serves as the articulation unit between the District of Columbia Public Schools, the residents of the District and the University. The University provides for low-income and first generation college students the opportunity to enroll in career and state of the art degree programs as well as experience the college environment that prepares students to become productive citizens of the District of Columbia. Services Offered: - Academic, Personal, and Career Counseling; - Academic and Personal Enrichment Workshops; - Assistance in Developing Computer Literacy; - Career Exploration and Planning; - Dictionary of Occupational Titles Exploration Workshops - Exposure to Cultural Enrichment Activities. - Financial Aid Information; - Graduate School Information and Assistance; - Mid-term and Final Exam Review Sessions; - Study Skills and Money Management Workshops; - Time Management Techniques; - Tutoring in Math, English, Foreign Language, Natural Sciences and Logic;

Upward Bound is a federally funded college preparatory designed to enhance academic skills and/or motivation. Upward Bound is a year-round college preparatory program that provides high school students academic assistance, educational and career guidance and cultural enrichment activities. Students are expected to remain in the program until they complete high school. It is one of the several programs sponsored by the University of the District of Columbia’s Office for TRIO and College Preparatory Programs that encourage high school students to graduate and pursue a post-secondary education. Services: - Classes in English, mathematics, science, and a foreign language - SAT and ACT preparation - Academic, career and personal counseling - College Tours - Academic and cultural field trips - Financial aid and scholarship workshops - College application fee waivers - SAT and ACT fee waivers - Stipends
