A brief description of the practice:
In spring 2011, UDC discontinued printing and distributing the semester course guide, an 80-page document that was traditionally sent to each household in the District of Columbia three times per year. The new practice of providing an online-only course guide annually saves the institution over $250,000 and avoids the consumption of more than 35 million sheets of 8.5" x 11" newsprint.
