A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:
The UTRGV Office for Sustainability (OFS) developed with Dr. Sergio Garcia, two surveys to measure sustainable literacy and culture, via an online Qualtrics survey. The surveys were sent to all student and faculty on Fall 2019 semester.

The surveys were sent to all student and faculty on Fall 2019 semester. The literacy survey was answered by 438, but completed by 329 participants,(including staff, faculty, and students). The survey is sent to student, faculty, and staff body on an annual basis.

The survey was completed by 329 participants, of whom 317 were students, 7 were faculty, 3 were staff, and 2 other. 50% of students and faculty showed knowledge/sustainability competencies. 32% did not show high levels of knowledge/sustainability competencies & 18% students showed little to no knowledge/ sustainability competencies.
