A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
UTSA currently operates all buildings with a proactive efficiency and sustainable operations and maintenance program. All building space is operated and maintained in accordance with a sustainable management policy/program and/or a green building rating system, the University practices sustainable management policy for all its buildings. UTSA practices a green cleaning policy, environmentally friendly pest control, and weed control. Our buildings use energy recover, we use trend analysis to maintain a 20% reduction in EUI over a 10 year trend in compliance with the State Energy Conservation Office and we are setting goals to reduce EUI by and additional20% over a 2023 baseline by 2030. Our operations utilize strategies to reduce water utilization include low flow toilets, fixtures, meters, and design guidelines with a LEED Silver minimum and KPI's for performance on capital projects. Projects are tracked to provide operations and maintenance data for long term commissioning and utilization to maintain efficiencies.
UTSA aparticipates with the CPS on demand energy program. Our buildings operations include a campus initiative to reduce greenhouse emissions through LED retrofits, green cleaning products, employee training on energy use reduction, waste stream reduction including recycling and waste reduction. Policy is produced by building operations.
