A brief description of the campaign(s):
The Recyclemania competition is a trademarked program of the Recyclemania Steering Committee in coordination with the College and University Recycling Coalition (CURC). Program management for RecycleMania is provided by Keep America Beautiful in coordination with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WasteWise program. Recyclemania promotes friendly competition among colleges and universities throughout the USA to show the rest of the country how serious we are about preserving our environment. In 2011, over 630 colleges and universities, including UTSA, participated in Recyclemania in different categories. The competition was based on the amount of material recycled and composted during an eight week period between February 6 and April 2, 2011. UTSA Recyclemania efforts were managed by the UTSA Office of Environment Health, Safety and Risk Management, which also manages recycling campus-wide and encourages all members of the campus community to help achieve a greener environment by recycling in the workplace.
