Energy Management (MS, EM)

A brief description of the graduate-level degree program:
The Master of Science in Energy Management is a 36 semester credit hours STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degree program. This program is designed to train the next generation of energy industry leaders. Graduates are prepared to thrive in industrial, corporate and governmental organizations.

Learning projects are developed by local industry leaders and teach students how to develop operating strategies, negotiate contracts and manage energy-specific risks. Included in the curriculum is a comprehensive sustainability and corporate responsibility course and our courses are both domestic and international in scope.

The energy management faculty and lecturers consist of current and former executive officers and senior managers of large oil and gas companies, power companies and government agencies. The program’s ever changing and expanding curriculum keeps up with the cutting edge of energy science.

The Master of Science in Geospatial Information Sciences is a 36 semester credit hours degree program that delivers a rigorous understanding of the technologies, quantitative techniques, models and theories used to acquire and manage spatially referenced information and provide spatial decision support.

Students may also pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Geospatial Information sciences.

The Master of Science in Geosciences is a 36 semester credit hours degree program that prepares students for careers in sustainable earth sciences within the energy industry, government and academic sectors. The curriculum immerses students in geophysics, geospatial information sciences, hydrology and net-zero fossil fuels, and teaches them about the composition of earth and its systems.

The Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) is a unique 36 semester credit hours program that combines a solid academic core with student-selected concentration areas, thereby enabling students to incorporate and integrate various academic disciplines, theories, and methodologies. Students may select an environmental studies and sustainability concentration and create an individualized plan with their advisor. Concludes with a two-semester senior capstone and research project.

Graduate certificate in GIS is a 15 semester credit hour program offered by the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences for both novice and experienced GIScience professionals. Classes are offered through the state-of-the-art facilities housed within the Geospatial Information Sciences program in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences.
