North Texas Regional Centre for Expertise
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
UT Dallas has collaborated with UT Arlington to form RCE North Texas, which is an acknowledged Regional Centre for Expertise for Education on Sustainable Development through United Nations University. RCE North Texas will serve to bring together higher education, k-12 education, industry, non-profit, and local government in order to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the regional level. UT Dallas and UT Arlington led a process for SWOT analysis with community engagement and developed the mission and vision for RCE North Texas with input from the community. Over 100 members, representing high-impact organizations have joined RCE North Texas and volunteered time and resources to serve on a committee to advance SDG 3,SDG 4, and SDG 11, which were prioritized for year 1.
